Social Communication Skills Groups

Social Communication Skills Groups for Children and Young Adults (PEERS®-Informed)

Build stronger social confidence, clearer communication, and more comfortable connections, one practical skill at a time.

Therapy Dynamics offers 10-week in person Social Communication Skills Groups for children and young adults using the PEERS® method (UCLA). This is a structured, evidence-based approach that teaches real-world social skills in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Learning social skills is not about masking or changing who you are, but about gaining tools that help you communicate your needs, navigate social situations with greater ease, and engage with others in ways that feel authentic and empowering.

What is PEERS®?

PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) is a skills-based model that helps participants learn and practice social strategies such as:

  • Starting and ending conversations
  • Joining groups and building friendships
  • Handling teasing, disagreement, and conflict
  • Understanding social boundaries and expectations
  • Practicing perspective-taking and communication “repair”
  • Using skills in everyday life (school, work, community)

Sessions are interactive and practical, focused on teaching specific skills and supporting participants as they practice them.
